The Design Process: We discuss the design, style, colours, content and functions you want for your website. We ensure that you have good quality digital images, slides, transparencies, or quality photographs of your work, and the information we will need for your website before we begin. We ask you what you want to achieve by having a website, who you want to visit, and what they will want to see there. Once we have all the information we need, we then begin to build a demonstration website for you, which you can see being constructed online, at a special web-address. Your
input into the Design Process: You tell us what you think as we go along, and we develop it together - don't worry we don't take offence. We encourage you to take a lead in the design decisions, because we want you to be happy with your website, and we want it to reflect your personality and promote you, and your work, in a way that you are comfortable with. We have found that if you like your website, you use it more, develop it, and update it regularly, and so in turn your website becomes a very cost-effective and efficient marketing tool. How are the Charges broken down? Set-up and web-design: You pay a 1-off fee for your website design. Monthly Fees: If you want ShopArt to Host your website, manage your Domain Name, give you Email, put your artwork into an Art Catalogue, make your website online purchasing enabled, provide visitor statistics, submit your website to search engines and help you with promotion, we charge a Monthly Fee paid by Standing Order based on the services you want. Occasional Extras: You may occasionally need some PR & Marketing to support an Exhibition, International trip or Trade Show. We can help you with promotional materials, digital photography, marketing, PR, Grant applications etc. These services are charged extra, as, and when, you need them. Do I have to sell my work online? NO!! You don't have to sell your work online if you don't want to! We usually put your work into an online Art Catalogue to display it on your website. Catalogue functions can be added to any website, and it makes adding new work, swapping and removing work much simpler. Once your work is set up in an Art Catalogue, you can add online sales when (or if) it suits you, at little extra cost. I want to sell my work online! We normally put your work into an online Art Catalogue to display it on your website. Once your work is set up in an Art Catalogue, we can add online purchasing functions. This enables your work to be sold via the Internet, as well as by fax, phone, or post. We can add online purchasing functions to any existing website, not just those we have designed, so if you have a website and you are ready to start selling online, ShopArt can help you do it. How does selling online work? We
know that most pieces are `1-off’ and not repeatable. That’s fine. You control the number of items that you sell, when you want to display them for sale, the price you want, and the time you take to deliver them. We update & manage your Artwork Catalogue, and we manage the ShopArt online purchasing system to suit you. We make sure the technology is secure and robust. If you sell your work from your website Art Catalogue, ShopArt manages the sales process, credit clearing and transaction for you. You then get an order from ShopArt, despatch the work to your new customer, and are paid by cheque within 45 days of the transaction (after our payment clears, minus the administration charge on the sale), currently 6% of total sales value. No exclusivity We don’t demand exclusivity, we are happy that you sell & promote your work elsewhere as well. Clients can contact you direct, or via ShopArt for commissions, to buy your work, and for enquiries. When work goes to a Gallery or Exhibition, we state where visitors can view your work with the full Gallery details and web-links, and if it's at an Exhibition we put up the dates and venue to encourage visitors. When you sell a piece - we're thrilled - and we then mark the work as `sold’ or `by commission only’ in your online Art Catalogue & display it on your website. Can I join or link to ShopArt? www.ukartnow.com Any artist with a website can join the ShopArt Art Portal. It costs just £2.50 + VAT per month. Our artist clients are automatically Members. Some artists choose not to link to ShopArt. That's fine too. We can manage your website, art catalogue and online sales functions and promotion as an independent website as well.
